Size guide

We size rings in South African / UK letters. All you need is a ruler with millimetres. Rings over R 2,000 include a free first resize within 30 days.

Enter your measurement

mm

  1. 1 Measure a ring you already own

    0 10 20 30mm inside: 17.3 mm = size N½
    1. Choose a ring that fits the finger you're buying for.
    2. Lay it flat and measure straight across the inside, edge to edge, at the widest point, in millimetres. Don't include the metal.
    3. Enter the number above, or find it in the inside diameter column of the chart.
  2. 2 Measure your finger

    0 10 20 30 40 50 60 70mm pen mark at 54.4 mm = size N½
    1. Wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of your finger, where the ring will sit. It should be snug, but still slide over your knuckle.
    2. Mark where the paper meets with a pen.
    3. Lay the strip flat on a ruler and read the length in millimetres.
    4. Enter the number above (choose "around your finger"), or find it in the inside circumference column.
    • Measure at the end of the day, when your fingers are warm and slightly larger.
    • If your knuckle is wider than the base of your finger, measure both and choose a size in between.
    • Between two sizes? Choose the larger one, especially for wide bands.
    • Paper is better than string, which stretches. Measure two or three times.
  3. 3 Print our ring sizer

A finger strip and ring circles on two A4 pages.

Check before you measure: printers often shrink pages to fit, which gives the wrong size. Print at 100% / Actual size with "Fit to page" off, then measure the check lines on the sheet with a ruler. Each must be exactly 80 mm; if not, print again.

Meghana is a sterling silver ring with a 12.32ct emerald-cut amethyst, 5x4mm oval moonstones and 1mm round blue sapphires. Three gemstones in three different cuts make it a true statement ring.

Wear it on its own and let the stones do the talking, or keep it for occasions that call for something special. A memorable gift, too. Hand-picked by our founders in India.

About Amethyst

Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz, ranging from pale lilac to deep reddish purple.

Birthstone
February
Hardness
7 (Mohs)
Everyday wear
At 7 on the Mohs scale it is suitable for daily wear in rings and other jewellery, though it may need repolishing over time.
Care
Clean with mild soap and a soft brush; avoid steam and intense heat, and store it away from harder gems that can scratch it. Prolonged strong light can fade some amethyst.
Meaning and tradition
Its name comes from the ancient Greek for "not drunk", and in folklore it was linked to a clear, sober mind. Traditionally it has also been associated with keeping a cool head in battle and business, and with strength, wit and calm.
About Moonstone

Moonstone is a feldspar (orthoclase with thin layers of albite) prized for adularescence, a soft glow that seems to float across the stone, with body colours from colourless to grey, peach and brown.

Birthstone
June
Hardness
6-6.5 (Mohs)
Everyday wear
Moonstone has poor toughness and a slight tendency to cleave or chip, so it is best treated with care, especially in rings.
Care
Clean with warm, soapy water and a soft brush; avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners, as moonstone may crack with high heat.
Meaning and tradition
In Hindu mythology moonstone is said to be made of solidified moonbeams, and it has long been linked with love, good luck and the moon; it is sometimes called the "Lover's Stone". Many people wear it as a calming focus for meditation.
About Sapphire

Sapphire is the mineral corundum, best known in blue (from greenish blue to violetish blue) but found in every colour except red. Sapphires in other colours, such as pink, yellow, green and purple, are called 'fancy' sapphires.

Birthstone
September
Hardness
9 (Mohs)
Everyday wear
Sapphire is very hard with excellent toughness and no cleavage, so it resists breaking and suits rings worn every day.
Care
Warm, soapy water is always safe. Ultrasonic and steam cleaning are usually fine for untreated or heat-treated sapphire, but fracture-filled, cavity-filled or dyed stones should only be wiped with a damp cloth.
Meaning and tradition
Traditionally, sapphire symbolises nobility, truth, sincerity and faithfulness, and it has adorned the robes of royalty and clergy for centuries. In folklore, star sapphires were linked with the power to foresee the future.

Meanings and traditions are beliefs people have held about these stones, not proven effects, and are no substitute for medical advice.
