June birthstone: Pearl and Moonstone

Pearl and moonstone

June is one of the few months with more than one birthstone. Our collection brings together two of them: the soft lustre of pearl and the glow of moonstone.

Pearl: the only gem made by a living creature, formed layer by layer inside an oyster or mussel. Pearls have long been associated with purity, calm and wisdom, and every one is slightly different. Many of our pearls are freshwater pearls, each with its own shape and sheen.
Moonstone: a feldspar known for the soft, floating light that seems to move across its surface as it turns. Traditionally a stone of intuition and new beginnings, it has a dreamy, moonlit glow.

Caring for pearls

Pearls are soft, so put them on last and take them off first: after perfume, hairspray and make-up. Wipe them with a soft cloth after wearing and store them apart from harder stones.
